Karhari Media Music provides a transparent and systematic royalty accounting process for all registered artists, labels, and distribution clients. This ensures every partner gets their fair share from the revenue earned across various digital platforms (DSPs) like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Facebook, Amazon Music, etc.

Below is the step-by-step breakdown of the royalty accounting and payment process:

🔹 1. Sales Reporting Period

• All digital music platforms report sales and streaming data to Karhari Media approximately 30–90 days after the end of a calendar month.

• For example, January sales are typically reported by March or April by platforms like Spotify, YouTube, etc.

🔹 2. Data Collection & Verification

• Once Karhari Media receives data from all partnered stores:

  • The data is verified, cross-checked, and cleaned for anomalies.

  • Any duplicate, fraudulent, or invalid activity is removed as per the policies of digital stores (e.g., YouTube or Facebook monetization invalid traffic).

🔹 3. Royalty Dashboard Update (Every 60 Days)

• Karhari Media updates your artist/label dashboard every 60 days with:

  • Streaming statistics

  • Sales reports

  • Earnings generated

• Example:

  • Songs streamed between January 1 – January 31

  • Dashboard updated: March 31 – April 15

🔹 4. Revenue Split

• The revenue is split as follows:

  • 80% to the artist/label

  • 20% to Karhari Media (as commission for distribution, monetization, and rights management)

🔹 5. Payment Eligibility Criteria

To receive payment, the user must:

• Reach the minimum payout threshold (usually ₹500 or $10)

• Provide valid bank or PayPal/Payoneer details

• Upload and verify KYC documents (PAN card, Aadhaar, GST details if applicable)

🔹 6. Payment Timeline

• Payments are made within 15 to 30 days after dashboard update, provided all documentation is complete.

• Example:

  • January streaming → Payment received end of April or early May

🔹 7. Payment Modes

Karhari Media supports payments via:

• Bank Transfer (NEFT/IMPS/RTGS – India)

• PayPal / Payoneer (International artists)

• UPI for India-based independent artists (on request)

🔹 8. Tax Deduction & Invoicing

• For Indian artists:

  • TDS may be deducted as per government rules.

  • GST invoices are shared for registered label users.

• For international partners:

  • Invoice is shared in USD or native currency.

  • Karhari Media does not deduct taxes but may request tax details for compliance.

🔹 9. Dispute & Query Handling

• Any disputes in reporting or royalties must be raised within 30 days of dashboard update.

• Karhari Media offers email or ticket-based support for resolving:

  • Under-reported plays

  • Platform policy violations

  • Duplicate content claims

🔹 10. Transparency & Contracts

• All royalty terms are mentioned in your Artist/Label Agreement.

• Partners can download their royalty statements and invoices anytime from the dashboard.
